BCA-Keppel Land Scholar
Project and Facilities Management, NUS
Not many companies would offer a scholarship to a school dropout. I am very lucky to have been given a second chance.
f you had met Kenix when he was 15, you would have said he was going nowhere fast. A secondary school dropout then, he had no idea what he wanted to do.

“After quitting school, I got a job as a bartender and got to meet people from all walks of life, including corporate high fliers,” he cites. Inspired by their success, Kenix realised the importance of education and decided to go back to school as a private candidate to get his 'O' Levels and secure entrance to Polytechnic. He succeeded and graduated top of his class at Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

Kenix went on to get a scholarship award from Keppel Land Limited to study a course in Project and Facilities Management at NUS. He is grateful to his sponsor for the opportunity. “Not many companies would offer a scholarship to a school dropout. I am very lucky to have been given a second chance,” he says.

Mr Choo Chin Teck, Director of Corporate Services at Keppel Land commended him, saying, “We are impressed with Chuan Tiong for his resolve and tenacity to overcome setbacks and obstacles, in order to make a success of his life.”

This admirable young man's positive attitude has led him to where he is today. His advice to students considering their career is: “Your attitude determines your altitude.” And nobody proves that more than Kenix, who is certainly flying high today.
