Htin Aung
BCA-CapitaLand Scholar
Architecture, NUS
here's nothing more satisfying than living your dreams and for Htin Aung, that dream is to study Architecture. “Architecture is the perfect combination of science and the arts,” he explains, “and I also enjoy the flexibility in career that the course offers.”
Htin Aung discovered his passion during a design competition he took part in while at secondary school.
Architecture is the perfect combination of science and the arts.
"My mentor was an architect and his insights opened up a whole new world of possibilities for me. From then on, I knew I wanted to be an architect,” he reminisces.
Presently in the first semester of his five-year masters degree course at NUS, Htin Aung has been pleasantly challenged by the intensity of the course. “I love the problem-solving aspect,” he enthuses. “Often there is no fixed solution and we have to use our knowledge and wits to come up with a suitable strategy.”
This BCA-CapitaLand Built Environment Scholar added, “The course is long and tough, so make sure you are committed to following it through. It can be demanding, but if you are like me, you'll see it as enjoyment rather than hard work.” This young man is proof indeed that when passion is involved, dreams can be lived.
