“The process is a complex one, with many parties involved – architects, designers, engineers and landlords. I was inspired by the intricacies of the building's construction and management process and wanted to experience it first-hand.”

Kai Hui was a BCA-City Developments Ltd (CDL) Scholar and holds a Bachelor of Building Science (now known as Project & Facilities Management) from the National University of Singapore.
In her present role with CDL, her responsibilities encompass the broad spectrum of property management issues for CDL's landmark commercial property, Republic Plaza, including preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure all facilities and common areas in the building are in good tenantable conditions at all times.
Asked why students should consider a career in the building industry today, Kai Hui has no hesitation in recommending such a choice: “The industry is a key dynamic player in rejuvenating the city skyline, and the future for the industry is a bright and exciting one.” Kai Hui’s work gives her the opportunity to integrate her technical knowledge of the whole building with customer service, and she is ever ready to face her tenants with a smile.
